Worship

FCC WORSHIP PIC

We gather each week to encounter God in fellowship with the Divine and each other. We seek to worship God with joy and thanksgiving in our hearts. For us, worship is a scriptural-based activity in which we adore our God through praise, prayer, song, and proclamation. FCCDOCFS hosts one worship service each Sunday morning and several special worship services throughout the year. All are designed to celebrate the highlights of the Christian year and support our journey of faithfulness during the Ordinary times.

Sunday 10 A.M. Service in the Sanctuary

This worship service blends a more formal style of worship with a comfortable atmosphere and warm welcome. (It’s not unusual to see someone in a FCC Cross for the web pagesuit sitting next to someone in jeans. And, all are comfortable.)

The central element of worship at FCCDOCFS is the open celebration of the Lord’s Supper for all seekers of the Way.

Worship also includes the magnificence of a Qimby Pipe Organ and English Bells, meditation, hymns of praise, prayer, anthems by the Chancel Choir and other musicians, and proclamation of the Biblical story.

We worship God and celebrate community with a spirit of joyful reverence and awe.
